Professional scent diffusion

Are you looking for professional scent diffusion? Then you have come to the right place! Because masking unpleasant scents or adding scent to a room: nothing is too crazy for us.

Diffusing scent in a room

There are different ways of diffusing scent. We spread scent through electric scent systems. These are suitable for every imaginable space! An example is the diffusion of scent in spaces up to 500m², multiple rooms, large rooms or rooms with an air treatment duct. In combination with our various installation methods, any installation is possible!

Scent diffusion techniques

The diffusion of scent can be done through different techniques:
  • Heating
In heating, the scent oil is heated or evaporated by heat. The evaporation of the oil fills the room with scent.
  • Spraying
In spraying, the scent oil is sprayed into the room. This is usually done through room sprays or wall mounted sprays.
  • Cold atomisation technique
A scent pump creates pressure in the scent cartridge. This forces the scent out of the atomiser and the oil comes out of the system as a mist.
  • Ultrasonic diffusion
Ultrasonic diffusion works by using vibrations to transform water and scent into a fine mist. These vibrations create a light steam that gently disperses the scent throughout the room.

Advantages and disadvantages of techniques

Each scent diffusion method has its pros and cons. At Sense Company, we use the cold nebulisation technique because we believe it delivers the best scent experience - especially in large spaces. One major advantage is that the fine, lightweight mist stays airborne longer, moving with the airflow instead of quickly settling on the ground. Our cold misting systems can even be installed with the equipment in an adjacent room, ensuring they’re always out of sight and fully protected. The design fits the description: our black diffuser is sleek, minimalist and compact, making it perfect as a Stand Alone solution as well.

Ultrasonic diffusion has a downside: it’s not powerful enough for large spaces, which makes it more of a consumer product. However, a nice benefit of many ultrasonic scent systems is that they also double as humidifiers.

Spray systems, unlike ultrasonic diffusers, emit a strong scent. However, sprays have the disadvantage of leaving droplets that quickly settle to the ground. As a result, the scent is only present for a short time. Wall-mounted sprays typically run on batteries with limited life and are always visible. Room sprays are prone to theft and are often small, requiring frequent replacement.

Another way to diffuse scent is through heat. While effective, this method comes with a fire risk and the heat can alter the molecular structure of the scent oil, potentially changing the smell of the scent. Like wall diffusers, this is better suited for home use and not ideal for large spaces. On the plus side, by adding your own drops, you can control how strong the scent is.

Which scent diffusion method is best for me?

We can conclude that cold air diffusion is suitable for almost any space, such as spreading scent in your store. Whether it’s up to 500m², multiple areas, large spaces, or those with an air treatment system, we ensure a consistent and even scent experience, wherever you need it!

Steam via ultrasonic diffusion is more suited for smaller, personal spaces. If you want a relaxing scent before going to sleep, an ultrasonic diffuser is the right choice for you. The same goes for heating fragrance oils.
