Sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR)

Sustainability: a subject you can't ignore these days. And we don't want to ignore it either. At Sense Company, it’s part of our decisions and considerations every single day. This way, we strive to reduce our footprint even further. After all, that makes everyone happier, right? Let’s spread some sustainable smiles!

The Scent-factory

A better world starts with us! That’s why we’ve chosen a sustainable home base for our HQ scent factory. So what makes it sustainable?

  • First off, we use floor heating combined with a heat pump. By drawing heat from the ground, we no longer rely on gas, which cuts down our CO2 emissions.
  • A green roof? Check! The scent-factory has a naturally insulating sedum roof. This protects our premises, is suitable for biodiversity, and absorbs a lot of rainwater. Did you know that an average of 847 mm of rain falls in the Netherlands annually? A shame not to do anything with it! That is why we use the collected rainwater for flushing our toilets.
  • We’re also thinking ahead with our sustainability goals. Our next steps include installing solar panels and expanding our electric vehicle fleet. This way, we keep moving forward!

Smart online scent device

Through our smart online scent device and its app, we have insight into the operation of our customers' devices. This allows us to remotely check in with them for any questions. And we see when maintenance is needed. The advantage? In addition to being able to provide fast service, this also means that our employees are not driving unnecessary kilometres because every meter counts!

But not only do we have this insight, but the customer does so through the app or portal. Here they can also compile scent schedules. With these schedules, you determine how much and when the scent device will nebulise scent oil. In this way, the scent oil is used optimally, without waste. Even more sustainable!

EcoVadis

Since April 2024, we have held the EcoVadis Committed Badge. This badge recognizes our ongoing commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR). It reflects our commitment to environmental protection, fair working conditions, ethical business practices and sustainable sourcing.

EcoVadis is a global platform that rates companies on their sustainability performance. The rating system focuses on four themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable sourcing. Companies are evaluated and rated based on their policies, actions and results achieved. The goal: To lead all companies to a sustainable world.

CSR

As Sense Company, we are also aware of our social function. Corporate social responsibility therefore forms part of our business model. Through CSR, we strive to do business in the most responsible way possible.

Activities that we develop within CSR are:

  • Production with people with a distance to the labor market
  • Supporting socially involved organizations and charities
  • Contact days for knowledge sharing between partners/clients
  • Sponsor local sports clubs
  • Internship opportunities for students and reintegration.
